Tapping into the five star services of its companion building, Pendry West Hollywood hotel, it offers catering and in-residence dining courtesy of two Michelin-starred chef Wolfgang Puck. ut it’s its design that sets Pendry Residences West Hollywood apart from similar conceits. Instead of the staid symmetry of an apartment conceived on the classic hotel model, with its long corridors and the unwavering sameness of its rooms, architectural firm Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects (EYRC) explodes expectations. Drawing on their experience designing custom single-family residences, they’ve tweaked twenty-seven different floor plans, ensuring that each of the forty private homes, which frame spectacular views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills, is unique. Factor in their use of exquisite materials and these sumptuous hideaways exude luxury on every level.

Taking advantage of the cross-breezes enables the two and three bedroom units—some of which sport roof decks as large as 3400 square feet equipped with private swimming pools and spas; others that have wrap-around landscaped terraces and private kitchens—to be open to the exterior, exploiting the advantages of Southern California’s impeccable climate. To underline the feeling of exclusivity, shared corridors have been erased in favor of two semi-private elevators for each unit, one passenger and one service, which whisk residents, their staff and their belongings directly to their living quarters from the secure parking garage, ensuring the utmost in security, privacy and discretion.

Complementing the spectacular architecture, AD100 designer Martin Brudnizki of Martin Brudnizki Design Studio emboldens the interiors with eye-catching details and luxurious finishes including chef’s kitchens that morph from informal to formal with SubZero and Wolf appliances; floor to ceiling windows; Poliform walk-in closets and dressing rooms; open-plan living and dining rooms, white oak floors and kitchen cabinets; and sumptuous Arabescato Cervaiole marble baths with deep soaking tubs and polished nickel fixtures. “The interiors were chosen to meld with the Californian scenery as a soft and dusty palette in pinks, greens and blues features throughout,” says Brudnizki, but their glamor and allure is pure Hollywood magic.
